The current price of large electric fence W insulators is KSh 35 per piece (excluding VAT).
What Are Large W Insulators?
W insulators — also called claw insulators — hold live fence wire on the side of a post while keeping it electrically isolated. The large version has a bigger shield between the wire and the post, which reduces arcing, and stronger claws for heavier wire and higher-pressure fences.
Features
- Heavy-duty claw design grips the wire firmly
- Large shield prevents arcing to the post
- UV stabilised for long outdoor life
- Suits 1.6mm galvanized wire, 2.5mm hot-dipped galvanized wire, polywire, polybraid and polyrope
- Can guide wire around the back of a corner post
- Mounts with nails or staples on timber posts, or pop rivets on metal posts
Where to Use Large W Insulators
Use them on free-standing fences with timber or steel posts, on farm and game fences with heavier wire, and at corners where the wire wraps round the post. For wall-top fences, ready-made W posts with insulators already fitted save installation time. A heavy-duty rivet gun makes fixing to metal posts quick.
How Many Do You Need?
Allow one insulator per wire per post. A free-standing fence with posts every 3m and 8 lines needs about 8 insulators every 3 metres. Our electric fence cost calculator works out the full quantity for your fence length.
