How to Install a Lightning Diverter

Mount the diverter outdoors near where the lead-out cable leaves the energizer. Connect the fence side to the live line and the earth side to a dedicated earth system — ideally separate earth rods placed several metres from the energizer’s own earth. Set the arc gap according to the instructions. A diverter only works as well as its earth, so use good-quality earth rods kept in moist ground.
