What Is the Baofeng BF-888S?

The BF-888S is a simple handheld two-way radio for short-distance team communication. Its channel selector and push-to-talk controls make it suitable for users who do not need a display or keypad.

Short-Range Walkie-Talkie for Work Teams

The radio suits compatible communications for security teams, shops, warehouses, events, construction sites and property operations. Actual range depends on buildings, terrain, interference, antenna position and programming.

Simple Channel-Based Operation

Turn on the radio, select a programmed channel and hold the push-to-talk button while speaking. All team radios must use matching authorised frequencies and settings.

Rechargeable Battery and Desktop Charger

The supplied lithium-ion battery is rechargeable using the included charger. Operating time varies with battery condition, transmission frequency, volume and daily use.

BF-888S vs Display Radios

The BF-888S uses a straightforward channel knob and has no screen. Users who require dual-band display, keypad entry or monitoring of two frequencies may prefer a compatible Baofeng UV-series radio.

Other Two-Way Radios and Accessories

For a display, keypad and dual-band operation, compare the Baofeng UV-5R and Baofeng UV-82. For discreet listening, add a clear-tube earpiece with mic.
