What Is a Waterproof Adaptor Box?

A waterproof adaptor box protects electrical joints, connectors, power adapters and control equipment from dust and water when it is correctly mounted and sealed.

300 × 250 × 120mm Box Dimensions

The enclosure is 300mm long, 250mm wide and 120mm deep. The additional depth suits bulkier power supplies, terminals and cable loops compared with shallower boxes.

Adaptor Box Sizes and How to Choose

Choose a box by measuring every component and allowing space for cable bends, glands, heat clearance and future servicing. Do not select an enclosure based only on its outside dimensions.

Uses for CCTV and Power Adapters

This size can house compatible CCTV power supplies, network connections and camera cable joints. Check ventilation and equipment ratings before enclosing heat-producing power units.

Alarm, Electric Fence and Gate-Control Applications

The enclosure can organise compatible alarm panels, electric-fence accessories and gate-automation controls. Keep mains and low-voltage wiring separated as required by the installation.

Waterproof Cable Glands and Entry Points

Fit correctly sized glands to every cable entry and route entries downward where possible. Unsealed holes or damaged glands will allow water to reach the contents.

Installing a Large Adaptor Box

Secure the box to a stable surface, maintain the lid gasket and tighten screws evenly. Support heavy internal equipment so its weight does not pull on the enclosure or cables.

Plastic vs Metallic Adaptor Boxes

This product should be selected according to its actual enclosure material and rating. Plastic boxes resist corrosion and avoid electrical conduction, while metallic enclosures may provide greater impact resistance and require correct earthing.

Other Adaptor Box Sizes and Power

Smaller sizes include the 255 × 200 × 80, 200 × 200 × 80 and 100 × 100 × 70. Common contents are the 12V 10A CCTV power supply and the Solarmax 30A charge controller.
