What Is a Waterproof Adapter Box?

A waterproof adapter or junction box houses cable joints, connectors, power supplies and small control components. Correct sealing helps protect the contents from dust and water.

255 × 200 × 80mm Box Dimensions

The enclosure is 255mm long, 200mm wide and 80mm deep. Measure the internal components, terminals and required cable bends before ordering.

Security-System Adaptor Box Uses

The box can organise compatible CCTV, alarm, gate-automation, access-control and electric-fence connections. Select components and wiring that suit the enclosure and installation environment.

Installing Waterproof Cable Glands

Use correctly sized glands at every cable entry and place entries downward where practical. Drilled holes without suitable seals will reduce water protection.

How to Mount and Seal the Box

Fix the enclosure to a stable surface, seat the gasket correctly and tighten the lid screws evenly. Avoid crushing cables or trapping debris in the seal.

Choosing Between 200mm and 255mm Adaptor Boxes

The 255mm length provides more horizontal space than a 200 × 200mm enclosure while retaining an 80mm depth. Choose based on component layout, cable clearance and service access.

Other Adaptor Box Sizes

Compare the square 200 × 200 × 80 box or the deeper 300 × 250 × 120 for bulky power units. Small camera joints fit the 100 × 100 × 70 box.
