What Do Gate Contacts Do?

Gate contacts carry the electric fence across a sliding gate. One half mounts on the gate and the other on the gate post; when the gate is closed, the contacts touch and the gate section of the fence is live. When the gate opens, the circuit breaks and the energizer can raise a gate alarm. The earth-plate version switches the fence to earth when the gate is opened, forcing an alarm condition.

Features

• Heavy-duty design
• Large location plates allow for more tolerance in gate alignment
• Available with brass cable connectors (SGC13) or crimp lug connectors (SGC07)
• Mounting bracket available (EA-SGC07ZB/HDG)
• EA-SGC13/EARTH version includes an earth plate that forces an alarm when the gate opens

Specifications

• Material: UV-stabilised nylon, stainless steel and brass
• Supplied in two parts
• Dimensions: 80 × 118 × 60mm and 95 × 114 × 60mm

Installation Tips

Align the two halves so they meet squarely when the gate closes, and run the live connection from the post to the gate with undergate cable. Connect the gate alarm to your energizer’s gate input. On automated gates, set up the contacts after the gate motor limits are adjusted.
