What Is It Used For?
The Gallagher DVM measures the voltage on an electric fence so you can confirm it is working and trace shorts and faults along the line. It even reads battery energizers that are running in Battery Save mode.
Features
- Monitors fence voltage and helps trace shorts and faults
- Reads battery energizers in Battery Save mode
- Runs on one 9V battery, lasting 6–12 months
- Water resistant
- Pocket size
How to Find a Fault
Test at the energizer, then at points along the fence. A sharp drop in voltage between two points shows where the fault is — often vegetation, a broken insulator or a wire touching a post. For step-by-step help, try our electric fence troubleshooter. To find the direction of a short faster, see the JVA fault finder.
