What Is the Yuasa NP7-12 Battery?

The NP7-12 is a 12-volt battery with a stated 7Ah capacity. It provides standby power when connected to compatible charging equipment.

Yuasa 12V 7Ah Battery Applications

Typical uses include selected alarm panels, access-control systems, electric-fence energizers, emergency equipment and uninterruptible power supplies. Verify the equipment requirements before installation.

NP7-12 Battery Terminals and Physical Fit

Check the old battery’s terminal type, polarity, dimensions and cable connectors before ordering. Batteries with the same voltage and capacity can use different terminals or case sizes.

How Long Will a 7Ah Battery Last?

Backup time depends on the connected load, charging condition, battery age, temperature and permitted discharge level. A system drawing more current will run for less time.

Charging a Yuasa Backup Battery

Use a charger or control panel designed for a compatible 12V sealed battery. Incorrect charging voltage, deep discharge or prolonged storage while flat can shorten battery life.

12V 7Ah vs 12V 17Ah Battery

A 17Ah battery has greater stated capacity but is larger and may not fit the enclosure or charging system. Do not change capacity without checking the equipment manufacturer’s specifications.

Replacing a UPS or Alarm Battery

Disconnect power safely, label the positive and negative leads and inspect the cables for damage. After replacement, test charging, mains-failure backup and any low-battery warning.
