The current price is KSh 4,500. This Ei Electronics smoke alarm protects homes and small rooms with a standalone alarm that works without any wiring or fire panel, even during power cuts.

Fit the first alarm between bedrooms and the most likely fire sources, such as the living room. It should be no more than about seven metres from the door of any room where a fire could block your escape. Most homes need two or more alarms, and the alarm must be loud enough to wake everyone.

Avoid kitchens and bathrooms, where cooking fumes and steam cause false alarms.

For a lower price, see the Asenware battery smoke detector. Keep a fire blanket in the kitchen. For offices and larger buildings, use a wired fire alarm panel.

Buy the Ei battery smoke alarm from Patsec Security Store at Accra Road, White Angle House, first floor, shop 76, Nairobi.
